What now Lakers?

It is clear that the Los Angeles Lakers season is pretty much done with. With being placed in the 7th seed for the palyoffs, the team lost to the Spurs with a finish 4-game sweep routing Lakers 103-82. For four straight games, the San Antonio Spurs showed off all the teamwork and tenacity that the Los Angeles Lakers lacked all season long. And when the Lakers' tumultuous season finally collapsed Sunday night, the smooth Spurs rolled right past them to the second round.

So what happens now? With the season over and Kobe injured, what will be of the Lakers?
"What has defined Kobe is his relentless work ethic and will to win, his drive to push himself to be the best, to push through injuries, to show up to play every night, to care about every ****ing game.
Kobe can be criticized for a number of things – but never his drive and willingness to lay it all on the line. Criticize MDA, or Li’l Buss, or D12, or the basketball gods, whatever.
This injury was simply the result of Kobe being Kobe, fighting for a fucking useless eighth seed on a dysfunctional team that had no chance of making noise in the playoffs. The minute Kobe sits down on the bench and concedes to time, odds, injuries, etc. while there is still a chance of any playoff spot, is the minute Kobe stops being Kobe.
Those last two free throws are exactly what separate Kobe from everyone else. It’s who he is. In the basketball world there is no better cause than fighting for a playoff spot, fighting to stay alive to play one more game. Kobe did that. And it is exactly why he is and has been so special. He was a martyr for the only thing that matters in basketball – winning the next game to keep the hope (however faint) of a championship alive."
People can agree that Kobe will come back even stronger than he was before. It certainly isn't Lakers nation without the Balck Mamba. Howvever, some say that this is the end for Kobe. With a torn achilles, practically one of the worst injures any athlete can have, Kobe can be at the end of his career. Then again, when has Kobe not been injured? He seems to have the intensity of never giving up. Always reaching for the goal and proving others wrong. So from my perspective, I believe that he will return even better than he was before. A laker game can nott the same if Kobe Bryant isn't on the court.

Texting and Driving: Stopping Wrecks.

Stop the texts. Stop the Wrecks.

Texting and driving is one of the many distractions of young teenage drivers. Besides drunk driving, texting while driving can be dangerous and deadly.

In today's soceity, modern technology has highly advanced. IPhones, IPads, or any electronic device has taken over our mental capacity especially when it comes to driving. I myself at times do get distracted. there were times when I was driving and i was answering a call at the same time. At fisrt I had no clue what I was doing. I thought it was safe and that nothing would happened to me. Luckily I was informed of the danger hazards of texting/calling while driving. There are those who sadly can't manage both and end up dying in an accident or get severley injured.

Take out your wireless device. Read the last text message you sent or received aloud. Would reading or responding to that text message from behind the wheel be worth the risk of getting into a car accident -- or worse? Our goal is to educate all wireless users, especially teen drivers, on the risks of texting while driving. AT&T is committed to putting an end to the behavior and our message is simple, yet vital: When it comes to texting and driving, it can wait.

It is clear that no one wants to be in that position. No one wants to be the person on the stretcher while being taken to the hospital. A text and call can wait. If it really is THAT important, you  can pull over and take the call or text but don't do it while your driving because either you or someone else can pay the concequences.

Megalodon

Imagine if this creature would still be in existence? Well no one really knows if this creature has banished or not. Some have found evidence of its massive teeth that are said to be at least 7 inches long. No one has physically seen the shark but some believe that it still lurks in the seas. I actually have recently done a report of the Megalodon shark for my AP Biology class. I was really interested in this creature because before starting this report, I believed that the great white shark was the only sea creature that I feared most. 18 meters long. Taking three great white sharks just to measure it. I never imagined that a crearture this big can still be alive. If it were alive how could it have survived for such a long period of time?

Many people have found Megalodon's teeth all over the world. It seems to be that it is the only evidence scientist can grasp of Megalodon'd existence. Some scientsits are doing research based on the creature's teeth. However trying to discover more information about the creature is a difficult task as they only have little evidence to conduct.

One thing is for sure. We are uncertain if the Megalodon is still alive. If it is where is it hiding and what will we do about it? This research has got me really intreged as I too would like to know if it is alive or not and if there are any more evidence to be discovered.

Based on the Relay's, people can agrre that the New Jersey teams have preformed with great excellence and beating their heats has resulted in their greatest preformance yet! As I watched the relay's, as a distance and relay runner, I was immediatley intreged by their preformances. It was amazing watching these athletes compete and the fact that most of the athletes are from college is preparing me mentally as I wish to run track in college.

Teen Pregnancy

Teen Preganancy and ways to stop it:
Mission

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy seeks to improve the lives and future prospects of children and families and, in particular, to help ensure that children are born into stable, two-parent families who are committed to and ready for the demanding task of raising the next generation. Our specific strategy is to prevent teen pregnancy and unplanned pregnancy among single, young adults. We support a combination of responsible values and behavior by both men and women and responsible policies in both the public and private sectors. If we are successful, child and family well-being will improve. There will be less poverty, more opportunities for young men and women to complete their education or achieve other life goals, fewer abortions, and a stronger nation.

Goal

When The National Campaign was launched in 1996, we set a goal of reducing the teen pregnancy rate by one-third over 10 years. It now appears as though the nation will achieve this ambitious goal. Despite these declines, the teen pregnancy rate remains far too high. Consequently, in 2006, The National Campaign set another goal—to reduce the teen pregnancy rate by another one-third between 2006 and 2015.
The National Campaign challenges the nation to achieve by the year 2020 a reduction of 20% in the proportion of pregnancies among women under 30 that are unplanned and a 20% reduction in the teen pregnnacy rate.

Ask Ourselves:
Why get pregnant at such a young age? Maybe its cause we don't know what were doing or maybe because it was at the "moment". Truth is, young teen girls can blame at anyone or anything all they want, the fact is that it happened and there's no turning back.

Teen Pregnancy in the United States

In 2011, a total of 329,797  babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a live birth rate of 31.3 per 1,000 women in this age group.1 This is a record low for U.S. teens in this age group, and a drop of 8% from 2010. Birth rates fell 11% for women aged 15–17 years, and 7% for women aged 18–19 years. While reasons for the declines are not clear, teens seem to be less sexually active, and more of those who are sexually active seem to be using birth control than in previous years.
